‘Thales’ is the B-side opener to OUER’s latest EP: Stingray Nebula. This preview shows off the combination of lo-fi beats, jagged percussion, unruly harmony and a persistently slow, haunting motif. Based in Berlin, the duo include reference to Chicago house and Detroit techno styles throughout their work, while this track in particular combines these influences with the live bass and percussion. This helped OUER get noticed by Dirt Crew Recordings, who have dropped this diverse EP, which provides chilled ambient tracks, and pumping danceable tunes in equal measure. -Dan Peeke
